Oregon EV Rebate Frequently Asked Questions
How much is the Oregon EV rebate in 2026?
Eligible new battery-electric vehicles may qualify for a $2,000 Standard Rebate or a $7,500 Charge Ahead Rebate for income-qualified applicants. Eligible new plug-in hybrids may qualify for a $1,500 Standard Rebate or a $5,000 Charge Ahead Rebate. Applicants cannot receive both rebates for the same new vehicle
When is the Oregon EV rebate available in 2026?
The 2026 program applies to eligible vehicles purchased or leased from August 25 through November 4, 2026. Purchases or leases outside that window are not eligible for the 2026 open period.
Do leases qualify for the Oregon rebate?
Yes. A lease of an eligible new battery-electric vehicle or plug-in hybrid may qualify when the vehicle is leased during the open program period from a certified vehicle dealer or original equipment manufacturer and all other program requirements are met. The rebate recipient must keep the vehicle registered in Oregon for at least 24 months. An application submitted after the lease must be filed within six months of the lease date.
Which 2026 and 2027 Toyota vehicles qualify?
Oregon's current eligible-vehicle list includes the 2026 and 2027 Toyota bZ, bZ Woodland, C-HR and Prius Plug-In Hybrid. The 2026 Toyota RAV4 Plug-In Hybrid is also listed. Eligibility can change, so verify the exact vehicle on Oregon DEQ's current list before purchase or lease.
Does a regular Toyota hybrid qualify?
No. The Oregon Clean Vehicle Rebate Program applies to qualifying battery-electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. A conventional hybrid that cannot be plugged in does not qualify under these rebate categories.
Is the Oregon EV rebate a tax credit?
No. The Oregon Clean Vehicle Rebate Program provides a rebate rather than a federal income-tax credit. Depending on the applicant, vehicle and dealership participation, a rebate may be available at the point of sale or through an application after purchase or lease.
Is there an income limit?
The Standard Rebate has no income requirement for qualifying Oregon residents, although other rules apply. The Charge Ahead Rebate has household income requirements. The guideline is based on household size and income.
Can I combine the Standard and Charge Ahead rebates?
No. An applicant may receive either the Standard Rebate or the Charge Ahead Rebate for a new vehicle, not both.
Can the rebate be applied at the dealership?
Qualifying rebates may be available at the time of purchase or lease through an approved OCVRP participating dealership. A Charge Ahead applicant must first obtain a prequalification voucher. Check the state's current participating-dealer list before purchase.
Is rebate funding guaranteed?
No. Funding is limited and rebate availability depends on available program funds. Applicants may be placed on a waiting list if funds are depleted. Check the current funding page before purchase or lease.
